  35. Do we have to include our credit card data in the booking? 

  1. Can I choose a room? You may give your preferences, but we assign the rooms. Priority will be given to existing residents who have not been reprimanded and have behaved well. The allocation of the new residents will depend on such factors as the mark, the type of room, preferences when it comes to sharing a room, etc..

  2. Does the residence hall provide us with the sheets and towels? If you intend to do a full-year or intermediate stay, the residence hall does not provide them and you will have to bring your own, but if you prefer, you can hire this extra service when applying for the place, as is indicated on the advance registration application form.
 For daily stays (days and/or weeks), the cleaning and delivery of sheets and towels are included in the price.

  3.  Is there a telephone, TV and DTTV in the room? All the rooms have their own telephone connected to the building switchboard, allowing direct access to the telephone network. All incoming calls and calls between rooms within the building are free of charge. In order to make calls to the outside of the building, the resident will have to have gone to the administration office and deposited what amount he/she has deemed convenient in his/her personal account (the minimum being 5€).
 The room has a TV antenna connection. Only in the single suite rooms is there a TV set.

  4. May I take a television and Hi-Fi to the room?  Yes, you may bring your own radio, TV or audiovisual equipments into the room (one single appliance of each type per person), but they may only be listened to while wearing earphones or at a volume one’s roommate or neighbouring resident may not hear.

  5. Do the rooms have a microwave oven? Single rooms with a shared kitchen and single suites with kitchen have microwave ovens.

6. May I take the RESA furniture I do not intend to use out of the room? No, unless it is for a very important and justified reason.

7. Is there a Wi-Fi connection? No, we have a broadband connection. You have broadband connection in your room.

8. Is there a printer in the computer room? There is a printer at reception, at the service of the residents, (the document is sent by e-mail and we print it, the resident must provide the papers)

9. Is there a canteen in the residence hall? Since all rooms are equipped with their own kitchen, we do not have a canteen service.

10. Is there any room cleaning service? For year and intermediate stays, the cleaning of the rooms is an optional service that is not included in the monthly fee and which you may hire separately.

  11. Is there a waste collection service? No, residents must take their waste to the containers in the parking lot.

  12. Does the residence hall close during the holiday periods? No, it will remain open all year long.

  13. On which dates and at what times may one enter the residence hall once I’ve been admitted? Within the contract period during reception hours and giving prior notice to the management of the centre.
 Is this possible at weekends? Yes, but you should give prior notice to the management.

  14. May I stay at the residence hall during the Christmas and Easter holidays? Since the residence hall does not close at any moment in the year, you will be able to remain there during your whole booking period.
 And during the summer holidays? Yes, as long as you inform the management with due notice and extend the contract.

  15.How are the monthly fees paid? By direct debit payment between the 1 and 5 of each month.

  16. May a friend come over to the residence hall to study or eat? Yes, if you assume responsibility for the resident, who will have to leave the building after midnight.
 And may relatives or friends stay overnight in my room? Sporadically and as long as it is for no more than seven nights a year. You have to give notice to the management and they have to pay the fees for overnight stays.

  17. Does the residence hall have any place where I may leave things during the summer holidays? No, upon the termination of the contract, you will have to take away all your things from the room.

  18. Are there any timetables for entering and leaving? Does the residence hall close at any time? The resident is absolutely free to leave and enter the may the residence hall at any time. Decisions to enter to enter or leave for holidays, as well as absences exceeding 72 hours, will have to be reported beforehand to the manager. The residence hall does close its doors; each resident may gain access with a key at any time of the day or night.

  19. Do I have to deliver the key every time I leave the residence hall or at weekends? No, you may take it with you, but you may also leave it at reception if you want.

  20. Are there university canteens near the residence hall? The university canteen is 400 m away, and it offers a daily menu at an economical price. For more information, this is the website of the company that manages the university canteen: www.magui.es.

  21. Is the residence hall well connected with the bus station and the train station? The train station is 500 metres away. The following lines of bus have a stop at the residence hall: the Periférica (peripheral) line, the Circunvalación (Ring Road), Asteguieta – Campo de los Palacios, Armentia-Errekaleor.

  22. Are there any sports centres nearby? The residence hall has a gym for residents. However, next to the residence hall you will find the Municipal Community Centre, which has a library, a games library, basketball grounds, an indoor swimming pool and a gym. In order to gain access to this, all you need do is request your card at the sports section of the vice-rectory of the UPV/EHU. More information in www.vitoria-gasteiz.org/cceid.
 Also, three minutes away, there is the K2 private gym, which is the largest in Vitoria and contains numerous activities: tatami area, indoor swimming pool, climbing wall, fitness and workout room, sauna, thermal area, etc. Furthermore, it offers special rates for students.   23. Are there any supermarkets near the residence hall? Yes, there are all kind of establishments nearby.

  24. Where must I go if I need health care? To the nearest health centre, which is 5 minutes away.

  25. Where is the nearest library? The Municipal Community Centre has a library.

  26. I’m a foreigner and have no current account number in Spain. How can I open an account from where I am? When you arrive at the residence hall, we’ll tell you about the nearby banks where you can open a current account.

  27.Does the monthly fee include everything? No, it only includes accommodation, TV, computer connection with Internet access, telephone line (incoming calls and internal calls) and VAT. It does not include water and electricity consumption or the hiring of optional services (cleaning of the room and delivery of sheets and towels), along with the telephone calls, which will be paid for separately.

  28. Once I leave the residence hall, how long will it take for the guarentee deposit to be returned? 2 months approximately.

  29. May I register at the residence hall if I’m not going to study at the University of the Basque Country? No, we only accept students of the University of the Basque Country.

  30. Can you guarantee that I will have a place at the residence hall if I fill in the advance registration form and I pay for the registration within the term specified? No. Places are given according to the mark of the university entrance exams and place confirmation will be obtained once the list of admissions has been published at the website www.resa.es

  31. If I have made the advance registration application and have been admitted, will I be returned the registration payment if I cancel the application? No, the registration payment will only be returned in the events especified at the registration conditions.

  32. What if I should leave the residence hall mid-year and I do not stay for the full 10 months? This will be penalised with the loss of the guarentee deposit.

  33. How will I know that I have been admitted? A list of those persons admitted and not admitted will be published in the website of RESA. If you are admitted, you will receive the letter of acceptance, along with the access codes to the users zone of the RESA website, for you to accept the accommodation contract online. In order to definitively formalise your booking, it is essential that you accept the contract online and send the documentation requested in the acceptance letter before the end of August.

  34. How does the selection process work? The admission of the students will be made considering the criteria fixed by UPV/EHU:

  1.  Former residents that had a place the year before.
  2.  New residents (UPV applicants before registration and UPV registered 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycle students) that belong to a family unit with a tax base lower than 12.000 €, Erasmus students and PAS and PDI of UPV/EHU.
  3.  The rest of new UPV applicants before registration that will be listed by their academic results.
  4.  The rest of former UPV applicants that will be listed by their academic results.

Students that will make a full academic year stay will be admitted first (10 months or more).

  35. Do we have to include our credit card data in the booking? Yes, this is essential for the purposes of guaranteeing the booking and for covering possible penalties (annulments made with a term of less than 24 hours before the day of entering and damages to the facilities and goods of the residence hall).
