Last Friday, 17th July, saw the “official christening” of a new boat of the rowing team of the UPC, sponsored by RESA. The presentation took place at the facilities of the Royal Maritime Club in the Port of Barcelona, and was attended by the general manager, Thierry Igonin, the assistant general manager and operation manager, Eve Igonin. The commercial manager, Cristina Gómez, and Mar Miralles, the communication manager, as the representatives of RESA.
In representation of the Servicio de Actividades Sociales [Social Activities Service], Univers, those present were Montse Puig, the service manager, Jordi Soldevila, the communication manager, Montse Solsona, the fundraising and sponsorship manager, Jordi Aguilar, manager of the Rowing Team, and Pere Gisbert, the team’s trainer.
Showing an excellent predisposition and good humour, the general manager of RESA was the first to launch the ship, along with José A. Jové, one of the team’s leading rowers (silver medal at the 2009 absolute Spain Championships). Both he and the others from the Residence Hall company showed much enthusiasm and interest in the presentation of the new ship.
The meeting managed to reaffirm and improve RESA’s collaboration with and commitment to promoting both the UPC’s rowing team and the sports and cultural activities of its residence halls.
