For daily stays :
    41. Do we have to include our credit card data in the booking?

  1. Can I choose a room? You can specify your preferences and choose the type of room, but we choose them ourselves according to the list of place selections and the preferences marked in the application file.

  2. Does the residence hall provide us with the sheets and towels? If you intend to do a full-year or intermediate stay, the residence hall does not provide them and you will have to bring your own, but if you prefer, you can hire this extra service when applying for the place, as is indicated on the advance registration application form.
 For daily stays (days and/or weeks), the cleaning and delivery of sheets and towels are included in the price.

  3.   Is there a telephone, TV and DTTV in the room? The rooms have a telephone with an independent telephone line, and a TV antenna. There are no televisions sets in the rooms, but the residence hall has TV rooms with DTTV.

  4. May I take a television and Hi-Fi to the room? Yes, you may bring your own radio, TV or audiovisual equipments into the room (one single appliance of each type per person), but they may only be listened to while wearing earphones or at a volume one’s roommate or neighbouring resident may not hear.

  5. Do the rooms have a microwave oven? Yes.

6. May I take the RESA furniture I do not intend to use out of the room? No, the state of the room may not be altered and you may not replace RESA furniture with your own.

7. Is there a Wi-Fi connection? No, we have a broadband connection at the residence hall. You can have Internet access in your room

8. Is there a printer in the computer room? Yes, there is one at reception, with which a limited number of prints can be made per month. There is also one in the common areas, which can be used by purchasing a card for 5 or 10€. Once you have registered in the corresponding website, you will be able to print from your room and at any hour of the day. 

9. Is there a canteen in the residence hall? Yes, this is a service offered and managed by the University of Granada, according to the timetable and calendar established.

10. Is there any room cleaning service? For year and intermediate stays, the cleaning of the rooms is an optional service that is not included in the monthly fee and which you may hire separately.
 However, if you are staying at the residence hall for a few days, the cleaning and replacement of towels and sheets will be included in the price.

  11. Is there a waste collection service? No, each resident must take out his/her own waste to the containers outside the residence hall.

  12. Does the residence hall close during the holiday periods? No, it will remain open all year long.

  13. On which dates and at what times may one enter the residence hall once I’ve been admitted? On any day starting from the day on which the contract period begins, giving due notice to the management.
  Is this possible at weekends? Only if the starting day of the contract coincides with the weekend, and, on an exceptional basis, for flights from abroad, from the islands or from faraway cities.

  14. May I stay at the residence hall during the Christmas and Easter holidays? Since the residence hall does not close at any moment in the year, you will be able to remain there during your whole booking period.
  And during the summer holidays? Yes, this will require giving prior notice to the management and extending the duration of the stay.

  15.  What does the liquidation consist of?
 Once the leaving inventory has been made and the state of the room has been checked, charges will be made for the hours of cleaning on the leaving day, the cleaning of textile elements, the replacement of material needed and the painting of the walls. Electric consumption will also be regularised. All these amounts will be compensated for with the bond and the result will be the amount returned to you. You will be returned the bond if you do not renew the booking for the next academic year. In the event of the booking being renewed, the result will be part of the bond of the following academic year and you will be told of the resulting amount for the purposes of its updating.

  16. May a friend come over to the residence hall to study or eat? Visitors will have to be accompanied by the resident at every moment. In order to use the canteen, he/she will have to produce the University of Granada card or request an authorisation at reception.
  And may relatives or friends stay overnight in my room? Any visitor who remains in the residence hall after midnight must have been authorised to do so by the management of the residence hall. Furthermore, an additional bed will have to be available and the visitor will have to pay for it.

  17. Does the residence hall have any place where I may leave things during the summer holidays? We have storerooms where you may leave your belongings, but only if you renew the place for the following year .

  18. Are there any timetables for entering and leaving? Does the residence hall close at any time? The residence hall is open 24 hours a day. Residents have their own access key to the residence hall and their respective rooms.

  19. Do I have to deliver the key every time I leave the residence hall or at weekends? No, at the end of the contract, you will have to remove all your belongings from the room.

  20. Are there university canteens near the residence hall? There is a university canteen in the residence hall itself.

  21. Is the residence hall well connected with the bus station and the train station? Line 20 will take you to the bus station and the RENFE train station is 165 minutes away on foot.

  22. Are there any sports centres nearby? Yes, The University Building of Cartuja.

  23. Are there any supermarkets near the residence hall? Yes, there is a “Mercadona” supermarket nearby (on foot or using bus line L8) and a shopping centre (L20 de bus)

  24. Where must I go if I need health care? The SAS Traumatología Health Centre, the Hospital La Salud (ADESLAS) and the Hospital Inmaculada (SANITAS-ASISA).

  25. Where is the nearest library? All the university departments have a library.

  26. I’m a foreigner and have no current account number in Spain. How can I open an account from where I am? When you arrive at the residence hall, we’ll tell you about the nearby banks where you can open a current account.

  27. Does the monthly fee include everything? The monthly fee includes the monthly rent (accommodation), the half board, the fixed telephone quota, the computer connection with Internet access (with the limitations of the provider company and the rules of use), the TV antenna, the satellite receiver and the use of the common areas.
 Water and electricity consumptions are not included as neither are telephone calls made to the outside of the building, which will be paid for separately.

  28. Once I leave the residence hall, how long will it take for the bond to be returned? The guarantee deposit will be returned two months after the period of stay at the residence hall has finished.

  29. May I register at the residence hall if I’m not going to study at the University of Granada ? No, only students registered at the University of Granada will be admitted.

  30. Can you guarantee that I will have a place at the residence hall if I fill in the advance registration form and I pay for the registration within the term specified? Place confirmation will be obtained once the list of admissions has been published at this website  www.resa.es . In order to guarantee the place, it is essential to present one’s registration at the UGR, for which reason one must never forget to send you along with the other documents requested.  

  31. If I have made the advance registration application and have been admitted, will I be returned the registration payment if I cancel the application? No. It will only be returned in those cases provided for in the advance registration application. If you have been accepted by the UGR and by the residence hall, no change of University or place of accommodation will entail a refund. 

  32. What if I should leave the residence hall mid-year and I do not stay for the full 9,5 months (full academic year)? This will be penalised with the bond and your stay will be regularised in accordance with the rates established for short stays, in keeping with the provisions given by our Inner Rules of Procedure for such cases.

  33. How will I know that I have been admitted? A list of those persons admitted and not admitted will be published in the website of RESA. If you are admitted, you will receive the letter of acceptance after the 22 July, along with the access codes to the users zone of the RESA website, for you to accept the accommodation contract online. In order to definitively formalise your booking, it is essential that you accept the contract online and send the documentation requested in the acceptance letter before the 25 August.

  34. How does the selection process work? The admission will be made in consideration of the date on which the payment of the registration has been made as a formalisation of the booking, and the requirement of being registered at the University of Granada when it comes to publishing out lists. In the case of existing residents, the years spent at the residence hall will be taken into account.

  35. How are the monthly fees paid? By direct debit payment from the 1st to the 5th of each month, from the account number supplied to us.

  36. May I visit the residence hall to see the facilities?
 Yes, you may visit it after having arranged an appointment with us. Call us and we shall establish a day and hour so that you can see the residence hall.

37. What does the half board consist of?
 It consists of breakfast and lunch. If you want breakfast and dinner, you will have to give notice of this at reception, once you are installed in the residence hall.

38 . What type of menu does it offer?
 The elaboration and diversity of the menus depends on, and is established by, the Canteen Service of the UGR, and this can be seen every week at the University of Granada website:  http://www.ugr.es/~scu/ .

39 .  Wh at is the timetable of the University Canteen?
 Breakfast: 7:30 am - 10:00 am
 Lunch: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
 Dinners: 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (the dinner is delivered packed to be subsequently eaten in the room).
 This service is offered from Monday to Friday. The calendar is established by the Canteen Service if the University of Granada and is therefore subject to its regulations. It will be closed on holidays and vocational periods.

40 . What can I do if I do not have the time to arrive within the canteen timetable established?
 Another resident can collect the lunch by presenting your resident’s card and his.

  41. Do we have to include our credit card data in the booking? Yes, this is essential for the purposes of guaranteeing the booking and for covering possible penalties (annulments made with a term of less than 24 hours before the day of entering and damages to the facilities and goods of the residence hall).
