No, a selection process is needed, made on the basis of criteria given us by the university each year, and the list of persons admitted will be published in August on this web site www.resa.es

  31. If I have made the advance registration application and have been admitted, will I be returned the registration payment if I cancel the application? No, the registration payment will only be returned in the events especified at the registration conditions.

  32. What if I should leave the residence hall mid-year and I do not stay for the full 9.5 months (full academic year)? If it is cancelled before the last contract day, one will lose the two-month guarantee deposit, as web as the payment for the month in course.

  33. How will I know that I have been admitted? A list of those persons admitted and not admitted will be published in the website of RESA. If you are admitted, you will receive the letter of acceptance during the first days of August, along with the access codes to the users zone of the RESA website, for you to accept the accommodation contract online. In order to definitively formalise your booking, it is essential that you accept the contract online and send the documentation requested in the acceptance letter before the end of August.

  34. How does the selection process work? At the residence hall, we arrange the advance registrations into three groups, in accordance with the criteria of the UPF:

  •  Course students (admitted in this order):
1.1. A course of Pompeu Fabra University:
1.1.1. First academic year (arranged by marks)
1.1.2. Other academic years (arranged by marks)
1.2. A course of a school attached to Pompeu Fabra University:
1.2.1. First academic year (arranged by marks)
1.2.2. Other academic years (arranged by marks)
  •  Erasmus students (arranged according to registration date)
  •  Master’s degree and doctorate students. According to the number of places set by UPF.

The list is elaborated according to the places available for each group and we send it to the UPF, which then verifies that all the names on the list belong to the university and gives its approval to the definitive list.

  35. How are the monthly fees paid? By direct debit payment between the 1 and 5 of each month.

  36. What if I should not have the university entrance examination marks at the moment of applying for the place? It will not be necessary to send them at the same time as your advance registration form. You can send them when you pay for registration, But it is essential that, when you are given the marks bulletin of the university entrance examinations (in the month of June) you send it to us, and call us to verify that we have received it. You must take into account that, if you do not send us the marks, your application will be eliminated, and you will therefore not be admitted to the residence hall.

  38. Is the distance from one’s family home take into account when it comes to granting the places? No, the admission criteria are those established in the advance registration form.

  39. If I have a brother or sister who is already a resident, will I be given priority to gain access to a place? We try to favour family grouping, which means that if you have a brother/sister who is currently staying at our residence hall, you will directly obtain you own place.

  42. The formalisation of the booking, once I have been admitted, requires the university registration. If it is impossible for me to gain the registration until September, will I still be able to maintain the place at the residence hall? Being given a place absolutely requires having been admitted to the university in June. In the event of your being a UPF student who is still waiting for the results of the September exams, you will be able to take your place before giving us the registration, but if you decide to quit your studies at that university, then you will have to leave the residence hall.

  44. What are my possibilities of entering the residence hall if I am not in the list of admitted persons? Due to the selection process, it is unlikely that someone who has been admitted will turn down his/her place since demand is very high.

  45. May I carry out the registration after the deadline and add myself to the waiting list? No. You will have to wait until the beginning of October, when the waiting list of registrations made within the term is no longer valid and we open a new one.

  46. Will the waiting list remain throughout the whole year? The waiting list, which is a result of the registration period, will be annulled in the first days of October when we start to prepare the return of the registration fees. If you want to remain in the waiting list beyond this period, you will have to duly convey this to us.

  48. What is the cut-off mark for entering the residence hall? The mark cut-off varies from one year to the next, depending on the number of free places and the marks we receive in the registrations. We are unable to give accurate orientation regarding this matter.

For daily stays:

Yes, this is essential for the purposes of guaranteeing the booking and for covering possible penalties (annulments made with a term of less than 24 hours before the day of entering and damages to the facilities and goods of the residence hall).
