Facilities and services of the Residence Hall in Salamanca

We are sure that you have occasionally imagined living in a place where you could share moments with friends and colleagues as well as have everything you need readily available.
Such is the case of the Colegio de Cuenca Residence Hall, where you will find numerous facilities and services conceived to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Living in the Colegio de Cuenca Student Housing is more than living in a room: it is a place for cohabitation and for sharing experiences that will enrich your life at university.

New facilities (from 2010/11 academic year):

• Leisure room with TV, DVD, biliards, sofas and tables.
• Fitness room bigger and more luminous.
• Meeting area-office with tables, chairs and a bar fully equipped with sink, oven and microwave.
• Wide and confortable living-room, with tables and sofas.
• Internet Wi-fi in all of the common spaces.
• “Cyber-corner” with Internet acces, fotocopy and printer machine.
• Improvement of the heating and air conditioned of the new common spaces.
• Improvement of the ilumination of the big study room.

 As well as:

• Study rooms
• Self-service launderette. This works with cards (1.5 € for the washing machine and 1.5 € for the spin dryer)
• Parking lot
• Projection room
• Personal mailbox
• Adapted rooms

Services:

• Vending service. Food and drink vending machines.
• Daily press. The residence hall is subscribed to the newspapers La Gaceta regional de Salamanca , Tribuna de Salamanca, El País, EL Mundo and ABC.
• Management and reception. Customer service hours are from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm. There will always be somebody at reception to help you.
• Cleaning service of the common areas. The room is your responsibility but, if you want, you can optionally hire the weekly room cleaning service.
• Maintenance service. From Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm. If something breaks down, call us and we shall solve this as soon as possible.
• Caretaker services. From Monday to Friday from 8 pm to 8 am and at weekends and on holidays 24 hours a day.
• Lending service. Labtops, irons, ironing boards, vacuum cleaners and board games. If you leave your ID at reception, we shall lend you these articles, so you do not have to bring anything from home and it does not take up room space.
• Laptop computers lending service
• Canteen - Restaurant service. The residents can benefit from the canteen service of the Hernán Cortés Residence Hall (10 minutes on foot from the residence). Now with special prices for the Colegio de Cuenca residents during the 2011/12 academic year.

Optional services: these are services that can be hired separately.

• Weekly room cleaning service except for the kitchen: 31.85 €/month
• Weekly sheet and towel delivery service: 38.80 €/month
• Free parking space: the residence hall does not have a parking lot of its own, but it lies between two parking lots of the University of Salamanca, which offer free access to all members of the university community.
